Battery Repacking

Battery repacking involves opening old battery packs and replacing the battery cells inside. New batteries are welded together with a special welder (soldering batteries at home damages them). The battery pack is then sealed up, and will perform like new again, and in most cases will even be better than a new battery. Most Nickel-Cadmium and Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries can be repacked. Computer Batteries

In the majority of cases, laptop and notebook batteries can be repacked or rebuilt. Most repacks will increase the overall capacity, meaning longer running time of the computer when operating in battery mode. Please note that with that with an increase in capacity will come a proportional increase in charging time. This should be considered as a positive side-effect rather than a problem.
